FROM THE EAST
April 21, 2008
Brethren,
Thank you so much for your attendance at our April Stated Communication. Metropolitan #11 had the honor of hosting Most Worshipful Edmond Cohen’s
official visit to District 15-A. Everything went well and our officers did a great job. I am so proud of them.
We had another great meal prepared by Candlewick Catering and served by our Stewards Committee under the direction of Brother Mark Parsons and
Brother Ashley Thomas. Our Stewards always do an excellent job. Most Worshipful Cohen seemed to be very pleased with the attendance, the meal, and the friendly fellowship of our Lodge.
I thought Most Worshipful Cohen's question and answer ”town hall” program went very well. After Most Worshipful Cohen closed the lodge, he thanked us for a good and productive meeting.
We will be balloting on three new candidates at our May Stated. PLEASE make plans to be with us in the next weeks as we bring these new Brothers
through the degrees in Freemasonry.
At our May Stated Communication we will be honoring our Law Enforcement Brothers. Please come out and help us show our appreciation for them and for
what they have done and continue to do. We have a very special evening planned. We will have Bar-B-Que and all the trimmings prepared by Brother Butch Olphin and his Bull Neck Brisco Catering.
Always Great.
Our Speaker for the evening will be my Brother and friend, Worshipful Doug Jones. Don't miss this as it is a very special message Doug will present to us.
Brethren, I look forward to seeing and greeting each of you May 8th. Come share in our friendship and fellowship. Hopefully your attendance at this meeting
could become a habit.
I look forward to seeing each of you May 8th.
Finally Brethren,
"Don't Be Late In 2008 - Attend Your Lodge”
Fraternally & Respectfully,
C. Thomas (Tom) Sykes
Worshipful Master
FROM OUR WEBMASTER
Brethren:
I have built a new form in the Member’s Only section (need the word of an EA backwards to enter this section) whereby you may enter new and updated
information about yourself for our Lodge Secretary. If you have access to the internet, even if you don’t use e-mail, you can go to this form at http://www.metropolitanlodge.com/contactinfo.html
and enter your information. When you finish and click on the SUBMIT button at the bottom, it will automatically be sent to me and I will forward to Right Worshipful Charlie. Remember, if we
can’t locate you we can’t keep you up to date on what is going on in YOUR Lodge.
Fraternally,
Brother Tom Wadkins

Brethren,
The dues for 2008, $76.00, were due and payable on or before 1 January 2008. When you receive this bulletin write your check and send it to either of us or, better yet, bring it to the Lodge on
May 8th and participate in the proceedings and fellowship of YOUR Lodge. If you are one of the 16 or 17 who have not paid the dues for 2007 AND 2008 you are now eligible to be suspended for
non-payment of dues and I must remind you that if you are suspended in our Lodge you are automatically suspended from ALL Masonic Bodies to which you belong. Take heed and govern yourself
accordingly.
Fraternally,
Charles S. Sarbaugh, Secretary
Wade V. Evans Jr., Treasurer
FROM THE SECRETARY
Brethren,
In the not-so-distant past we have received information about the deaths of Brothers long, long after the fact and we were not in a position to acknowledge those deaths or offer any kind of
support to the families. Also, have been criticized for not acknowledging the illness of a Brother; in many cases we were not aware of the illness as we were not informed of the same. Brethren,
please ask a member of your family to notify the Lodge, by phone or note, of illness or distress or death so that we may offer our support. This is what our Fraternity is all about so please
assist the Lodge in living up to its commitments to its members. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Fraternally,
Charles S. Sarbaugh, Secretary
* * * * SPECIAL NOTICE * * * *
Brethren,
The Grand Master has designated the EVERY DAY OF EVERY MONTH as “MASONIC RECOGNITION DAY” and every member is requested to wear some sort of Masonic regalia
such as rings, lapel pins, golf shirts, jackets, etc. to show his membership in the greatest fraternal organization in the world and as proof of your pride in membership in that organization. This
request from the Grand Master is an opportunity for each Mason to show his community who and what Masons are, what they stand for, and to demonstrate to the general public our tenets of
brotherly love, relief, truth, and charity to all by our actions.
